Year 9 and 10 Exams
A reminder that the Year 9 and 10 exams will be held in Week 6 (12th - 14th November). Students will be emailed a complete list of study guides shortly, which provide a great summary of what they should be addressing in their study.
It is encouraged that all students dedicate themselves to a study program leading into the exams. Homework will be reduced during weeks 5 and 6, as we want to encourage good study habits to be established in the lead up to exams.
If students are feeling anxious or nervous about the examination period, a couple great tools to reduce this stress would be:
1. Be prepared
2. Talk to trusted people (parents, teachers)
3. Stay in routine (sleep and eating habits)
4. Know that staff are in prayer for you during this time
Looking forward to a strong finish to the year

Year 10 Pastoral Care
Can you believe we are edging towards November already! Where has 2014 gone?
It is an exciting time of the year for year 10 students. Post exams, they are involved in several initiatives such as obtaining a First Aid certificate, Community Service, Year 10 Camp along with a host of guest speakers coming in to run workshops for the students.
Students have been given a booklet which outlines all information and it is hoped that permission notes can begin to come back early next week. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact the College and speak to Mr Warren.

Year 9 IST Class -Animation experience with year 4
In term 1 Year 9 IST learned about animation and from then on our assessment was to create a suitable animation for Year 4 student that will hopefully teach them more about internet safety and how to make the right decisions when online.
Today Year 9 IST went up to Junior School and displayed and explained their animations on, how to be safe on the internet and make wise decisions because there are always consequences for your actions. As we were presenting the animations Year 4 loved every bit of it and engaged with the animation. When each group had presented their animation the students were quizzed on what had happened during the animation and all the answers were correct.
This shows that as Year 9 students we can also equip and empower people who are younger than us for a good cause because now they know how to be safe on the internet and what right and wrong. When they are faced with a situation they can remember what they have been taught and use that as an advantage.

The year 9 IST group had received an assessment task that required them to create an animation that would teach the Year 4 children how to be Internet SMART. Year 9 had the course of term 1 and the holidays to complete this task and when this task was completed in term 2 week 1. The Year 9 IST group went to junior school and then presented each of the individual animations. The Year 4 students were great listeners and soaked up all of the information in the animation

Year 9 Drama
Year 9 Drama are studying Children's Theatre and went on their first trip to the theatre as a class two weeks ago to see a performance by a NSW Children's Theatre Company.
Their own children's theatre piece which they have created through play building is coming along nicely and will be performed for our Prep and Kindergarten students in week 10.
This class are a great group of performers who tackle each task with enthusiasm and positivity.
